The structure i usually use at home games is:
5000 Chips Per Player (3×1k, 2×500, 8×100, 8×25)
Blind levels - 1 – 25/50 – 30mins 2 – 50/100 – 30mins (10min break – Chip up 25's to 100's during break) 3 – 100/200 – 15mins 4 – 200/400 – 15mins 5 – 300/600 – 15mins 6 – 400/800 – 15mins (10min break – Chip up 100's to 500's during break) 7 – 500/1000 – 15mins 8 – 1000/2000 – 15mins 9 – 1500/2000 – 15mins 10 – 2000/4000 – 10mins 11 – 3000/6000 – 10mins
I usually find games dont last past level 10/11 using this structure, this allows us multiple games. But if you did have a game that goes that long, blinds are at your suggestion. First 2 levels are either 15 or 30 mins depending on the group.

level 2? Well, I think your guys won’t need a timer. How about a lesson first? Just joking.

I think I will try you structure at our next game. Ours are fairly quick but yours seems like it maybe a bit quicker. Thanks for posting.

i've used similar levels but with 20 minute time limits down the line. It's still just one game though.

I usually play with a structure similar to that listed above – but – my girlfriends want to learn to play, so I am putting a game together for beginners (basic, playing for the first time beginnners). What might be a good blind structure that starts with a simple 1/2, 2/4, etc., I guess for about 10 players or so?

heres my home tourney this is a regular/turbo type it makes a game go faster toget more games in i use it for 1 table for multi tables then i sue the same chips then set the timer for 20 min until we get to 7-8 players then set to 15 min.
29 chips
10- 100.00 8-500.00 10-1000.00 1-5000.00 =$20000.00
1/2 15min
2/4 15min
3/6 15min
at any one point when 1 person goes out then adjust time to 10min when we get to heads up then adjust to 5 min.
4/8 10min
5/10 10min
10/20 10min
when we get to this point we color up most people color up at 5/10 when i wait i color up both 100.00 and 500.00 save me time on have 2 color ups in 10 min.
not sure yet if this timmer will work that way (adjusting blind time during play) but will use it for my muti tables

this might be a good idea for getting new players (beginers tourney)
the thing i see most about beginers is not knowing how to play and going out right away discurges them so while never having tried one this is only a suggestion problay a little tweaking will be needed i am going to look at setting one up my self
16-25.00 11-100.00 7-500.00 2-1000.00= 7000.00
25/25 30min
25/50 30min
100/150 30min
150/200 30min
200/400 30min
opational 1st person out gets rebuy
this would make the game go longer with small betting that way they get to play and if i was to hold this as a class type sittuation then as we played adjust mins and blinds i would also encourge homework such as playing freerolls on line searching for info on the net or reading books on the subject
i do like this idea and will be looking into it father and will post again

Nicker, thanks for the 2 very good blind structures. I think that might give people some other options to try. The turbo concept is popular online. You are probably on to something there…turbo home games. Double the number of games per night and more chances for players to get in on the action.

we play similiar structure to BrxKy from the first post, but with exceptions:
additional blinds 150/300,
usually 7-9 players
shorter blinds – 7-9 minutes, depanding on the number of players and no changes during the game
no breakes
chips: 1*5k, 3*1k, 5*500, 7*100, 10*25 = 11 450
and we usually play 2-3 games per meeting.
