depends on how much your playing for if it's a low buy in game i like short handed play like a table of about 6, but i do like the challeng of bigger tounament no matter how much the buy in

For 1 Table home poker games I would have around 8-12 players. For a 2 Table home game I would have 16-20 players. I would then use a blind structure similiar to the one below:

10-20
15-30
20-40
25-50
50-100
75-150
100-200
150-300
200-400
300-600
400-800
500-1000
600-1200
800-1600
1000-2000

Starting chips for this blinds schedule would be: Issue the amount of chips per color to each player. 3 different number of chips totalling 1000 each.

Value Red 5, Green 25, Black 100

Issue 20 red, 16 green, 5 black

Issue 15 red, 13 green, 6 black

Issue 10 red, 10 green, 7 black

To get this tournament to 2 hours in length, I would suggest using the poker timer and setting it to 10 minutes levels all the way to the end of the tourney.

What do you think is the most Optimum number of players to start with for low limit home game and what time setting for blind changes do you recomend for the chosen number of players.

Or if x players at the table and you want to finish the game in 2h then blinds should be y and increase every z minutes

So waht are x y and z in your oppinion
